A week inbetween

Friday Stammtisch
Back to school and work means that the weekend starts on Friday afternoon with Friday Stammtisch. In German Stammtisch means the regular table that is always reserved for your group at the pub or restaurant. With Herr P, Frau J and the Possum we have our own Friday Stammtisch either at our place or at theirs and it normally starts with an activity for those not at work, then we have dinner and the kids watch a movie together (or pretend to watch the movie whist playing DS is you are 13). This week we took a trip to the museum and whist inside is lots of fun the dinosaurs out the front are always a big hit. The bigger kids showed off their skills and the smaller ones followed.

I did say the bigger kids!

Then it was back for dinner, some more of the co-operative puzzle got done and books were read. My kids enjoy getting picture books and a movie out of the library especially for the Possum.

Saturday is normally a sleep in day but the first flea market of the season was on and we were all very keen. On the wish list for the Monkey was a pair of rollerblades which we picked up in under 5 minutes and then a second pair for the Mouse 5 minutes later as she decided it was a great idea and we managed to talk the Monkey around to the fact that it is more fun to roller blade with someone. The Bear was on the lookout for retro games as his favourite book is "Ready Player One", I was after crockery and clothes and Herr F was in it for the books. Everyone found what they wanted and stayed in budget.

The afternoon was spend recovering. Herr F enjoyed a bit of long form journalism from the "Die Tageszeitung" which I had picked up in town as they were handing them out free. The Monkey and I braved the hairdresser as her hair had got completely out of control and as a treat on a successful venture we popped back into the fleamarket as it was wrapping up.

Saturday night we packed our bags ready to head off the next day for a holiday.
Most inportantly, we finished the puzzle!!!! In a flurry of excitment as we entered the fleamarket we bought our next puzzle in anticipation of our upcoming trip. Horses done, Paris here we come.
